A+ for me!

Blood type, that is.

- Australia needs 21,000 blood donations every week to ensure adequate supplies
- About one third of all Australians will require blood at some stage in their life
- Only about 1 in 30 Australians donate blood
- When you make a whole blood donation, 470ml is taken - less than one-tenth of your total blood supply, and your body replenishes this within 24-48 hours.
Facts from the Australian Red Cross Blood Service website

2009 is the Year of the Blood Donor. This Sunday, June 14, is World Blood Donor Day.

If you've ever considered blood donation, I urge you to make an appointment. It's not for everyone, but if it's something you can do, it will only take about an hour of your time, once every three months, to become a regular donor.

Oh, and I'm still blonde. And feeling kind of beige ...
