a speaking role!

Once a term at school, each year group (Kindergarten, Year 1/2, Year 3/4 and Year 5/6 has a turn at presenting an assembly. It's a pretty big deal for the children, and a lot of work goes into showing to parents and other children in the school what the presenting classes have been doing.

The most recent assembly was by Year 1/2, and they sang for us, showed their artwork, did some yoga, and demonstrated a volcanic eruption. And, for the first time, the X-man had a speaking part. He read from his script, even though he knew it by heart and has been reciting his lines at home ever since, and that was probably a good thing, as he doesn't read as quickly as he normally talks!
